Football Game Haircut

Well, McKinley's hair has had it's share of trimming lately, but Mason's has been a little neglected. Matt finally decided that he'd had enough of Mason's shaggy 'do, so he gave him a buzz. Mason didn't want his hair cut, but Matt told him he would look like a football player. He liked that idea (he is somewhat obsessed with football - like father like son), so he sat perfectly still while Matt buzzed his hair. I was in the kitchen making dinner and looked up as he walked in rubbing his head - I think he liked the feel of his short hair :). I said "Mason, I love your haircut!" He said "Mommy, football game haircut! Football game haircut!" He was pretty excited about it. Here's a short (very short, he will only hold still and talk to the camera for about 20 seconds) video clip of Mason with his newly shaved head:

On a side-note, Mason is beyond heartbroken at the fact that McKinley gets to go to preschool and he can't. He puts on his little backpack when she gets ready for school, then bawls hysterically when she tells him he can't go with her. He is so sad while she is gone, he just pouts and asks for Kinley (what happened to fun one-on-one Mommy and Mason time??? I am just not as fun as a 3-year-old sister, best friend, and fellow troublemaker!). It's only the second week, so hopefully it will get better, but I really do feel bad for the little tike! He just loves his big sister! They have pretty much spent every minute of their entire lives together, and since he is the youngest he feels like he is the ONLY one who can't go, so I really can't blame the poor little guy! Sorry bud, you'll get your turn!

Cute haircut Mason!

I feel your pain with the whole preschool thing. Gentry is pretty heartbroken too. So sad.

Looking good Mason!
It will be a lot easier to get a football helmet on your head without all that pesky hair in the way!

That video is adorable, and so is the haircut. When Eric went to preschool and Ashtyn had to stay home all she would say while he was gone is "where is Eric" over and over again. I think I heard it about 50 times the first day of preschool and it got less and less over time. This year she is okay with him going to preschool although she wishes that she could still go with him. It is so great when kids are so close that they just want to be together.
