...coming up the stairs from the office to shower and get dressed after preparing an activity for music time in primary, I realize than NO ONE is even awake...
"MATT! It's 8:30! We have to get going!"
...Matt gets up and and turns on the shower...
"McKIIIINLEEEEY, MAAASOOOOON, get in the shower with Dad! Hurry!"
"Yes, they need their hair washed"
"Hold on, let me finish drying my hair, then I'll dry yours"
"No, you can't wear that dress, it's 2 sizes too small, try again"
"I don't know where your other shoe is, let's dry your hair, then we'll find it"
"Matt, do you know where Kinley's other shoe is?"
"Mason, where are your pants? I already put them on you TWICE!"
"Did anyone feed the dog?"
"Hold on Kinley, I'll help you wash your hands, did you flush the toilet? Where is your other shoe?"
"Matt, did you find Kinley's shoe yet?"
"Mason, keep your pants ON!"
"Kinley, will you hurry and feed the dog?"
"Oh, let's look for Kinley's shoe..."
"We're 20 minutes late, let's go! Forget breakfast, I'll pack some Cheerios in the diaper bag, everyone in the car!"
"Close the door behind you! I'm coming!"
...door slams and it's quiet for a second, then I run out the door, lock it behind me, and jump into the car...
"I've got Cheerios and sippy cups. Let me fix your tie. Are the kids buckled? Let's go."
...pulling out of the driveway...
"Did anyone find Kinley's other shoe?"
...silence, that means 'no'...
"Matt, I need your keys, I have to go back in and look for her shoe... I know we're late, but she can't go to church with only one shoe!"
...Matt turns off the car and gives me the keys, now everyone waits...
"I found it in the laundry pile! I'll put it on you when we get there, let's go! It's 9:30!"
...I finish my makeup in the 5 minute drive to church...
"Everybody out, we are so late! No, the Barbies can't go to church with us, they need to stay in the car! Here's your shoe Kinley, put it on and let's go!"
...sitting in the foyer as we catch the last 20 minutes of sacrament meeting I think to myself...
"Did anyone ever feed the dog this morning? I'm not sure. Probably not, sorry Monty..."
We'll be blessed for the effort, right? We arrive home spiritually fed, but physically exhausted! NAP-TIME!

No that was not your morning when you looked that cute. Our Sunday mornings are a well oiled machine. If you want to know the routine let me know.I hope we never change from 9:00. Kenlie is still so tired she doesn't have the fight in her that she has at 10.
Looks like you had a fun 4th. I love that you are finding all new ways to do you short hair. It scares me to try something new because I never have enough time to redo if it doesn't work.
Oh and by the way 1:42 or whatever it was was actually early Saturday night. I went to bed at 4:00. I don't get things done until the kids go to bed and I get my adrenaline pumping that once I'm done doing what I need to I can't relax enough to go to sleep. Hope you were dreaming skinny thoughts of me as I am running on my treadmill at 3:00 just trying to look as hot as you.
No seriously when I published I about died how long that was. Next time I'll just pick up the phone.
Haha, that was pretty funny. Maybe I'll just stick to one and a half kids (Since Benjy tries to help I only count him as half a kid. He is at least half though because I usually redo what ever he tried to do)
Sounds like the Whidden's routine.
Cute!!
Oh Mandy, my kids were laughing so hard when they were reading your monologue, sounded a little too familiar! Believe me, we have had our fair share of Sunday mornings like this, especially when the kids were younger. It will get easier. Between Gav, Soph, and Gray they have themselves and the little ones all ready by the time I am ready, then all I have to do is the girl's hair. That is a blessing from above because our dad is out the door before we even wake up enjoying his early morning meetings.
Stacy's Tips
*bath's before bed.
*Lay out all the clothes the night before.
*Easy breakfast, granola bars and bananas. Often times in the car on the way to church!
Mandy this post was so cute and hilarious! It just gives me something to look forward to. :) By the way, it really is a small world that you know the Comeau's as well! They're great people.
