Shoo fly, don't bother me...

This is a 'McKinleyism' for you. There was a fly in our house today that I kept trying (unsuccessfuly) to get rid of. Finally, I found the fly swatter and squashed it (eeewww!). McKinley had been following the whole process and asking me questions as I tried to catch the pesky fly. After I got it and flushed it down the toilet, she asked, "Mommy, what was his name?" I responded (a little sarcastically), "I don't know, I didn't ask." "Oh!" McKinley replied, "Next time, will you ask him his name before you kill him?" How rude of me!?! My first thought was "Sure, then maybe I'll find out his favorite color, too." Instead I just said, "Okay, next time I'll ask. I'm sorry." You've gotta love 3-year-olds. :)

That is too cute. It sure is fun to see what kids think. Don't you wish you could get into their little heads sometimes and hear their thought process?

That is so funny! Lily is the same way. I learned a while ago that I couldn't kill flies or spiders in front of her. I have to trap them and let them outside so they can go back to their mommies and daddies!
